Les Orres was newly build in a traditionally French theme in 2008 and offers some excellent conditions due to the high altitude of 1800 metres and lovely south facing slopes, giving you sunny days too. This area is predominantly a beginners and improvers destination but has something for everyone. With over 90 kilometres of well groomed piste and some very high standard accommodation, its no wonder people are starting to return here more than once.
Les Orres 1650 is a slightly older resort, with high quality accommodation and is the main area for Apres ski activities, however getting between the two villages is very easy making your choice more exciting.
The villages are very picturesque with beautiful views of the valley and many of the runs are tree lined so seeing the local wildlife if very easy too. There is a good selection of mountainside cafés and bistro’s offering a nice break during your day or many of the runs will runs right back into the village.
Beginners and families will love this resort, with wide, sunny nursery slopes, no lift queues and all situated right in the village centres, and there is a dedicated children’s area making learning to ski fun and safe.
The local ski school offers lessons from qualified, English speaking instructors and there is child care option for children as young as 3 months old, so this is a perfect destination for families.
Intermediates have over 80 kilometres of reds and blues to improve upon and there is a snow park for the more adventurous with jumps and verticals to push yourself. The ski school also offers some great one on one tuition where you will improve so much quicker and some lovely carving runs to experience. You can also take a guided tour and enjoy some of the amazing off piste opportunities in this beautiful area.
Advanced skiers have a choice of a handful of difficult and challenging black runs, and the snow park and the off piste options to keep any expert entertained.
Snowboarders have great respect for this destination, with a fabulous terrain park and some lovely tree lined runs too, no lift queues and amazing off piste, this resort really has it all.
Apres ski here in Les Orres is varied, the village in 1800 in quieter and more laid back, with a lovely choice of cafés bars and restaurants, where the original Les Orres 1650 is slightly livelier.
Non ski activities include ice skating, swimming pool and spa facilities. There is often parapenting opportunities and snow shoeing is popular too.
A great family destination with beautiful scenery and a great choice of apres ski too.
