Avoriaz and Morzine are in the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area, with over 650 kilometres of pisted runs, high altitude skiing, there is something here for everyone. Set 1800 metres above sea level with runs running between France and Switzerland, with stunning views and picturesque scenery.

Avoriaz is a characteristic resort, with bold modern buildings, its traffic free village and doorstep skiing and first class snow conditions, whilst Mmorzine is a little more lively which traditional bars and restaurants and an excellent choice for apres ski.

Beginners love these resorts, with 140 blue and green runs to choose from, wide sweeping, uncrowded runs, making it perfect to learn on or build up confidence on. Ski schools here are English speaking and based central to the resorts, and all cater for all levels and ages. Kiddies will enjoy the time they spend at kindergarten, and there is some children only runs nearby too, making it safe and fun all at the same time.

Intermediate and Advanced skiers are spoiled for choice, there is a variety of difficult blues, challenging reds and intense blacks to pick from, you need never ski the same run twice. The high altitude creates the most amazing conditions and Morzine has some of the best snow for last minute holidays, even at the beginning or the very end of the season. Maybe you would like to try your hand with a ski escort, they will take you off piste to some of the most challenging conditions and push you over and beyond anything you have experienced before.

Snow boarders can have their pick of the runs here too, with a purpose built snow park, half pipe and a wide choice of areas catering for boarders, they choice here is endless.

Non skiers can enjoy the magnificent sports centre, offering spa facilities, sauna and solarium. Or maybe a spot of ten pin bowling, ice skating or a movie.

A weeks bed and breakfast in Morzine will start around £399 but keep your eyes peeled for many last minute ski holidays, there is many bargains to be had, especially to the fantastic area of France.
