New Year Ski Holidays

Skiing at new Year has got to be one of the most fantastic times to take a ski holiday, however you must look for a resort which is high altitude or glacier as December snow is always hit and miss. So we have chosen Les Arcs as a perfect choice for skiing at New Year, not only is it a high altitude resort, it has its very own glacier and 5 resorts combined making it a resort that will suit every bodies taste.

The Lowest of the Les Arcs region is Arc1600, which has a very family feel to it, a village style atmosphere is enjoyed by all, then you have Arc 1800 which is suited more to the young and lively type of person who enjoy a lively apres ski, there is a abundance of bars and restaurants here. Live bands often come here to play, its a party resort and new year is a major celebration in Arc 1800.
Arc 1950 is a newly built resort , basically built between 1800 and 2000 to cater for the influx of skiers hitting this huge, popular ski area. The quality of new accommodation here is absolutely amazing, very modern and tasteful. The last of the 5 resorts that come under the Les Arc banner is La Plagne, which is sold as a resort in itself but is included on the all area life pass for Les Arc. La Plagne is excellent for all intermediate and advanced skiers.

Les arc is a glacier resort guaranteeing snow for new year, over 2000 metres high and over 500 kilometres of pisted runs, not to mention the off piste opportunities. Again Les Arc is popular for Snow Boarding with 3 large freestyle areas. There is also many nursery runs, and a fabulous English speaking ski school, and safe and friendly crèche facilities, another reason why the whole family can enjoy a skiing holiday at New Year.
Intermediate skiers are well catered for with 65 red runs and advanced will be satisfied too with 37 black runs, or maybe try the 7 km Aguille Rouge run, which is a black run going right down into Villaroger (Europe’s biggest vertical drop over 2000m), then pound the moguls of Duo De L’homme and return to the resort off piste through Nancroix Forest.

Les Arc is famous for its Olympic bob sleigh track or maybe you might fancy a try at husky sledding, there is also an ice rink, a cinema, a bowling alley and helicopter tours, so plenty to do when you are now on the piste.

A typical price for a catered chalet over new year will cost approximately £899, but most holidays usually include festive decorations, a Christmas tree, usually include free flowing wine during new Years Eve and New years Day, midnight snacks and sparkling wine to bring in the New year in style. Most chalets include a celebratory New Years breakfast and a 4 course gala dinner on New Years Day, so come on and join the party in Les Arc.
