Ski Holidays from Scotland

Ask yourself this question…….Why would anyone from Scotland possibly want to ski abroad when they have such fantastic ski resorts of their own, areas such as Glenshee, Glencoe, The Cairngorms or even the very beautiful Nevis Range. Well the reason according to industry research is that there has been shorter ski seasons due to climate change, no where near as much snow as previous years and the prices to get abroad now are getting lower and lower. So maybe it time to look a little further afield and try something a little different.

There is over 225 kilometres of runs, 68 blues, 19 red and 13 black runs. There is a varied selection of high mountain pistes runs, and the resort sits at 1650m with skiing high up into the glacier and down into the resort, and many hotels offering ski to door opportunities too.

Now we all know the average Scot likes a “wee dram” and Les deux alpes has more than your fair share of lively bars, a fabulous selection of restaurants and even a couple of nightclubs. Some of the best french restaurants a located in Les Deux alpes and really are a must for those foodies amongst you.

Rumour has it that snowboarding is massive on the Scottish mountain range, so those boarders in Scotland will not be disappointed, as Les deux alpes have 2 impressive half pipes, multiple kickers and a freestyle area too. The cross country runs are pretty famous and many major cross country competitions are held here.

Les deux Alpes suits every level of skier, and boasts the famous “Ecole de ski” ski school, it has many crèche facilities. This resort suits families, couples learning to ski and even the most adventurous skier whom may want to ski Le Grave off piste, Frances off piste Mecca.

Getting here is easy too with weekly flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow into Chamberry and Grenoble, and an average self catering holiday will cost approximately £399 per person based on 4 Sharing but there are many other bargains to be had.
